I’ve flown with ultralight gliders for some time and noticed a few differences compared to traditional gliders. The performance and weight savings are great, especially for hike & fly. However, ULS wear out faster due to the thinner materials. After a year or two of regular use, I noticed a slight change in the fabric's feel and response. They're suitable for pilots with excellent launches who replace gliders more frequently than before. For everyday training, especially in winter, I’d opt for a traditional wing.
